A 54-year-old woman presents to the clinic reporting two episodes of intense spinning sensations over the past 24 hours, each lasting about 3 hours and accompanied by nausea, vomiting, and difficulty walking. She also complains of a sensation of fullness and ringing in her left ear, with fluctuating hearing loss. The second episode occurred this morning, and she still has persistent tinnitus and muffled hearing. She denies headaches, photophobia, or neurological deficits. She has no significant medical history and takes no medications. Neurologic exam and brain MRI are unremarkable. Audiometry shows low-frequency sensorineural hearing loss in the left ear.

Ace Qbank Clinical Edge

Making the proper diagnosis is one of the most important aspects of any medical student’s or junior doctor’s clinical training and hence we created Clinical Edge Cases.

Ace Qbank Clinical Edge helps our students put their knowledge of symptoms and physical findings to test by applying clinical reasoning and assessment concepts to a series of common clinical vignettes. Problem-based learning is being used to focus on the cause behind the presentation of a simulated clinical case.

Each simulated Clinical Edge case contains a list of common causes of the presented condition, offers abundant references to the presented case, making additional information easy to find
